Limited Out!

Took out Bob Christiansen for a mixed bag Jigging/Blackfish trip today. We had a rainy start, but flat seas. Our first stop we had trouble holding anchor, then moved a few times, while catching some small fish. After playing with small bluefish & striped bass for a while, we once again anchored up for blackfish. This last stop didn't disappoint. We were immediately on keeper sized fish, and within an hour we had our boat limit of large blackfish, all while throwing approx. 50 fish back for being undersized. The fish are there, and the weather is still holding, so give a call and make a date to come out.

Blackfish Boat Limit

Took out Zoli & Phil today, and it was an epic day. The first fish over the rail was a keeper, and it didn't stop. The boys put together a boat limit, with about 75 short fish thrown back. The best part is that we only made one drop - no moving around. The fishing is hot, so give a call, book a date, and come on out.

Blackfishing in the Fog

Took out the Mark Palladini group yesterday. We had trying conditions getting to the grounds, as we had to cruise out slow in pea soup fog. On our first drop we didn't even see Plum Island. We had a bite going immediately. It was a steady bite of short fish with a few keepers mixed in. We moved around a few times as the bite slowed, but finally the fog broke, and we anchored at the lighthouse. The tide turned and we had amazing fishing for about an hour until the tide became too strong to hold bottom. In that time we put another four keeper sized fish in the box. Beautiful ride home, and a great day fishing.

Plum Gut Evening Trip

Took out the Beckman crew from Shelter Island yesterday afternoon for some bass & bluefish action in Plum Gut. The weather was perfect, and the kids had a great time landing loads of bluefish, which we released, and they got a nice slot sized bass to take home. Fish on every drift, and the boys went home tired, but happy at sunset when we had to leave. Great fall action is still here.

First Blackfish Trip

Had the first blackfish trip of the season yesterday, an exploratory trip with some friends. We had a few keepers and some giant sea-bass. Lots of short fish, but constant action all day. It will only get better as the water cools.
