Did another morning of Kids Camp for Peconic Water Sports. I had four kids out for some fluke fishing. We had some tough conditions, with wind against tide, but we ground it out. It was mixed bag of short fluke, sea robins, a giant skate, and a large sea bass. The kids had a blast, and some tasty fillets went home to the table. Give Peconic Water Sports a call to book your child in the morning kids camp - its a blast. Click on their logo on our homepage.
Went our yesterday with my brother Bill, my nephew Everett, and his two friends Charlie & George. We hit the fluke grounds only to find wind against tide, but the boys stuck it out and we put together a decent catch. The boys caught plenty of sea robins, short fluke, large sea bass (which still had to be thrown back), and two nice keeper fluke. The boys had a great morning, and they had some fillets to take home to the family.
Tuesday, June 19, 2018 : Our first kids fishing camp for Peconic Water Sports, and it was very successful. I had three young gentlemen who had a great time catching porgies, sea robins, and some nice sea bass that had to go back. The weakfish eluded us, but the boys had a great time, and went home with some nice fillets for the table.
Was out this morning for a quick trip with my lucky lady, my fiance Wendy. Started fluke fishing, and got only a few shorts, then she landed a nice 24" fluke. The boat traffic was getting bad, so we moved into the bay to try and find some porgys & weakfish. On our first drift, I connected with a nice 23" weakfish that went into the box. The fish are here, but you have to get our early on weekends to avoid the boat traffic. Give a call, dates are closing up fast.
Took out Ed Deitch for some fluking yesterday. We timed the trip for the tide, and it paid off. At first the bite was slow, but as the tide started to move, the fish started to feed. We had 4 quality keeper fluke for the day, catching 3 of them on the same drift. We only fished for two hours, and had more than enough fillets. The fish are still close, so come on out and book a trip.
Took our Nicole Albrecht, and her mom Wendy out today for a morning of Fluking. We had fish on our first drift. There were very few keepers, but the keepers were really large fat fish. The girls put two fat fluke in the box, culling through shorts, sea robins, and a few seabass that had to be thrown back. On the way back in we stopped at one last spot. On the first drop, Nicole hooked and landed this nice 25" - 6lb doormat fluke. The girls called it a day, and went back
