Went out with the crew of the Unity yesterday in search of Bluefin Tuna. We had heard reports of a good bite to the west before the midweek storm. We left the dock at 3:30 AM, and cleared Shinnecock Inlet an hour later. The ocean was beautiful, and the sunrise was great. The water was cold, and there were no tuna. We cruised by a dead humpback whale on the way in. Great day out there, but the fish will come - it was nice to get the offshore cobwebs out.
With the world turned upside down with the Coronavirus, things are definitely different. While still not legally allowed to charter, I have been out fishing both in the creeks on the skiff, and in the bay with the new Parker. The weather has not been our friend recently with many days of cold and wind.
