Took out Ben Tuthill, his father, and friend Wayne yesterday for some Peconic Bay Fishing. We had fish on the first drop, catching a mix of porgy's and sea robins. After moving around a bit, we hit into the weakfish. In a few drifts, we boated a good number, and kept two fish measuring 24" & 22" - nice weakfish. We then had a mixture of sand sharks and some large porgy's that went into the box. A great day for father and son, and some tasty fillets for the table. Come o
Went out with Ed Deitch last night for some sunset bass fishing. It did not disappoint. The conditions were perfect, and on the second drift, Ed landed this nice 36" Striped Bass. We stayed a little while longer, but only managed a bluefish. Great ride home with the sun setting, and a bass in the box.
Had Pete Egan and his four grandsons out yesterday for some Peconic Bay fishing. After some road troubles, the boys arrived and we headed out. We had fish almost immediately. After a few drops at different spots, we found the mass of fish, and stayed at them. The boys had a blast reeling in Porgy's, Sea Robins, a large Sandshark, and a kingfish. They were all smiles and went home with a nice bag of fillets.
Did a charter for Peconic Water Sports this morning. Took Nicolle out for a few hours fishing in the Peconic Bay. It did not disappoint. While at first it was spotty, I eventually found a good body of porgies, and she took home some nice fillets.
After three days of full on wind, I awoke this morning to calm seas. I headed out in the Pro Skiff to look for stripers. Hitting the usual spots, I managed a few hits, then connected on a nice 23" school striper. I later found bunker schools, but little action on them. A great morning after such a windy weekend. Summer is here next week, so come on out and go fishing.
