Blackfishing in the Fog
Took out the Mark Palladini group yesterday. We had trying conditions getting to the grounds, as we had to cruise out slow in pea soup fog. On our first drop we didn't even see Plum Island. We had a bite going immediately. It was a steady bite of short fish with a few keepers mixed in. We moved around a few times as the bite slowed, but finally the fog broke, and we anchored at the lighthouse. The tide turned and we had amazing fishing for about an hour until the tide became too strong to hold bottom. In that time we put another four keeper sized fish in the box. Beautiful ride home, and a great day fishing.
