Took out Dom Marino, Jimmy Fisher & Luke Fisher for a fluke trip to Gardiners Island. The weather didn't cooperate, as the winds didn't subside as per the forcast. We caught multiple short fluke, and some nice seabass out at Gardiners before coming inside. We fished one of my spots in the bay, and landed a nice weakfish, and a few porgies before the guys called it a day.
Had a family out today for a morning trip in the Peconics. We stayed local, and found some nice fish. We caught porgies, seabass, and two large weakfish - all fish released unharmed. Had all this great fishing without leaving the Peconics - so as to maximize time on the water.
Took out my brother Bill Lehnert, my nephew Everett Lehnert, and Charlie Koester. The kids had a great day off from school ! We headed to Plum Gut for some striper fishing. We were into fish on the first drift. In 1 1/2 hours of fishing, we landed 6 Bluefish, 2 short stripers & 2 nice keeper stripers. After the kids arms were tired, we headed back for some fluke fishing. Had a few shorts until Charlie landed a nice 22" keeper fluke. Had a great mixed bag day, the kids are hap
Had a great trip today. Ran to Plum Gut for some stripers, and had our limit of 3 fish in just 4 drifts. Headed back inside to fluke fish after 20 minutes of fishing. Fluking was a bit tougher, a lot of moving around before we found the fish. Also got a nice weakfish. Great morning, and back at the dock by 12:30!
After a rainy week, and some mechanical difficulties we made it back out fishing. We hit the fluke grounds in the local North Fork waters. It was a steady pick of fish. Plenty of short fluke, sea robins, and a few skates. We managed some nice keepers fishing from Southold to East Marion. The bite shut down with the tide, but we had a beautiful morning on the water.
