Took out Henry Saraceni, Scott and his two sons Rocco & Nicco. Planned an inshore trip, and they weren't disappointed. We had fish on the first drop, porgies mainly but after a few drifts, we found the weakfish. The boys quickly landed their limit of weaks, and we continued playing catch and release with these great fish. Rounded out the day with a Kingfish. Great morning, the boys had a great time, and they all had a bag of fillets for the table.
Did an away charter on the "Knot Debaitable" to to check out the daytime striped bass bite. Had a clear day, and we went to catch the outgoing tide. After a few drifts using live eels, the owner John hooked into a nice 40" striper which was quickly landed. A few drifts later I hooked into a monster fish, but it got caught in someone elses gear and was lost. It was a slow bite, and the tide finally died down and we went home. The owner was happy with his fish, and we had
Did a trip on the "Knot Debaitable". Tried to find some striped bass, but the bite was off with the weather. We changed up and went fluke fishing. John caught this great 26" fluke and a nice seabass fishing off Gardiners Island.
Took out Scott Acito and his friends for a morning inshore trip. We were into the porgies immediately. Had to cull through a lot of shorts to get a decent amount of keeper fish. Made a few moves, and finally found some weakfish - landed two nice keepers. The guys had a great time, and took home some nice fillets.
Took out Sue, Nick, Charlie & Hugo yesterday for an inshore trip in the Peconic Bay. We were onto the porgies on the first drift, and had a steady pick of keeper fish throughout the morning. Catching fish constantly with the keepers being large fish. Flat water & light breeze made for a nice morning before the boat traffic started to pick up. The boys had a great time, and a nice bag of fillets was taken home for dinner.
